I dabble in Godot. This site will get updated as I want to track my progress.
2025/04/01 - Doing the 20 games challenge. Started with pong, setup and tested git. link
2025/02/23 - End of Brackeys Game Jam. No Submission, what have I learned? Use git for future projects, start earlier and don't waste time on juggling with different ideas. Also, be okay with simple projects. The first step should be simple sketching, followed by a GDD with a strict schedule.
2025/02/22 - Underestimated the scope, especially regarding the issues which got created by shaders. A simple rollback would have saved time i would have needed to fix countless bugs, scene transitions which now do not work properly and missing game-related functions.
2025/02/21 - Added moving seamless background for "jumping" between systems. Added shaders for smoother transition, reworked the codebase.
2025/02/20 - Added combat and teams as a base for future game mechanics. Added different areas. Different design decisions, went from scalable 640x360 viewport to 1920x1080.
2025/02/19 - Scrapped everything, went with a previous concept. Interpreted the theme as fitting for a roguelite in space. Made a functional prototype. I could finish a game this time.
2025/02/18 - Brackeys Game Jam, creating a GDD to get an overview, analyzing methods to increase replayability.
2025/02/17 - Brackeys Game Jam, prototyping, tackling designchoices.
2025/02/16 - Brackeys Game Jam, creating and sketching game ideas based on the theme "Nothing can go wrong...".
2025/02/15 - Creating logos, itch.io page and devlog.
2025/02/14 - Brackeys 3D Tutorial, setting up a level with imported assets.
2025/02/13 - Brackeys 3D Tutorial. 3D greyboxing and player controller. link
2025/02/11 - GameDev.tv 3D Tutorial. Basic player controller.
2025/02/09 - GameDev.tv 3D Tutorial. Setting up a scene, collisions with meshes in 3D.
2025/02/04 - Playtest Feedback for an indie game.
2024/11/14 - Worked through a 3D Zenva tutorial.
2024/10/10 - Preloading and instancing.
2024/09/08 - Brackeys Game Jam, theme "calm before the storm". Simple prototype.
2024/08/23 - Solo Dev Game Jam, theme "Two Button Controls". Simple prototype.
2024/08/16 - GMTK Game Jam, first gamejam, theme "build to scale". Unfinished, but learned a lot.
2024/07/17 - PirateSoftware Game Jam, theme "Shadows and Alchemy", first proper GDD, functional prototype, but base mechanic didn't work because of missing shader experience. Left the jam.
2024 - Worked through clearcodes and brackeys godot tutorials (can recommend). link 1 link 2
